Back from a long day in Augusta!

Well we’re back, and we have some pictures! It was a fun day - lots of driving (moreso because Paulo got us lost on the way to the mall and we had to drive an extra 15-20 miles!) No hard feelings Paulo! The trip started out with a record breaker…a VonderBecke actually made it somewhere on time!

Tiffany arrived at our house right at 9:30 as requested - I have to say I was amazed. I requested 9:30 (when we were leaving at 10) because I figured it would mean she’d arrive at 9:45-10, but she made it on time!

We arrived at Paulo and Amanda’s new house a couple hours later (its about a 2 hour and 10 minute drive from our driveway). Here are a couple pictures. As you can see Paulo has already ripped up all the carpet and Linoleum.

After we spent some time checking out the house (its very nice, 2550 square feet with a good sized yard, only a couple of years old and they got it for a great price), we went Somewhere in Augusta for lunch.

Attached below are some more photos while we were there for your viewing pleasure!

We’re off to Augusta

Today we’re headed to Augusta to see Paulo and Amanda’s new house.  They closed yesterday morning.  We’re also going to eat Somewhere in Augusta!  (Hint: Thats the name of the restaurant)  Sunday or Monday we’re going to Lake Hartwell to go waterskiing and it will be Emily’s first time in water with a life preserver so we’ll see how that goes and I’ll get pictures of that too.

We forgot to see if someone could let the dogs out today while we are in Augusta so it looks like they’ll be “holding it” all day.  Not the first time they’ve done it but they haven’t had to hold it for 10 hours for a year or two!

A bit of background on the family

As a second post, I decided it would be a good idea to introduce the Family.  Most of you visiting this blog probably already know us.  The family is my wife Dawn and I, our daughter Emily, our two dogs Rocky (Brindle Boxer) and Samus (Fawn Boxer), and our two birds Kaw and Zuk (both parakeets).  Dawn might consider the motorcycles part of the family too but we’ll leave those for another post.

Here we are:

The VonderBecke family, generation Y

And the doggies (Rocky on the left, Samus on the right):

More to come later!

The first post on The VonderBlog

So this is my first post.  I chose the name “The VonderBlog” because, for as long as I can remember, people have been coming up with funny modifications to my last name and referencing me by them.  The VonderBlog just seemed like the perfect name to continue with the trend.

Anyway, I’m really not sure what this blog will tend to focus on.  At this point it will just be whatever I feel like typing, but at some future point it might migrate towards being an IT blog or a family blog.  Guess we’ll have to wait to find out.
